PLAY BASED INTERVENTIONS
We are pleased to offer Play based interventions for our younger clients. We have a playroom that is specifically designed, furnished and decorated with toys, games, etc., to be used as therapeutic tools. Our therapists, Paula Weaver and Tammie Thorne, have received specialized training to facilitate this healing process.

What Is Play Based Intervention?
Play based intervention involves using play as a therapeutic tool to provide children with a safe and comfortable atmosphere and the freedom to express their emotions. Because children lack the verbal and mental ability to express themselves, they instead use toys, games, etc. "No matter what verbal language children speak, children express themselves best through their natural language — the language of play."

Play based intervention also allows children to be the rule maker and designer of play. The key role of the therapist is to provide a trusting environment and to be able to explore, observe and discover common themes being expressed through play. (To "connect the dots" so to speak.) "Play based intervention offers children the opportunity to use the power of their own natural creativity and imagination to heal and grow." (www.snowcrest.net)

We are pleased to provide this opportunity and pray that God will provide healing through the powerof play.
